Job summary

Neumann Steel Pty Ltd on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to support steel processing, cutting and bending activities for our commercial and residential projects. You will operate automated and manual equipment, maintain safety standards, and contribute to efficient loading and dispatch operations.

Ideal candidates have experience in steel/metal fabrication, hold a forklift LF ticket or overhead crane licence, and can handle manual tasks in a busy industrial setting while

Responsibilities

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Steel Processing: Accurately cut and bend reinforcing steel bars in accordance with client schedules and production orders.
• Machinery Operation: Operate automated and manual rebar cutting and bending equipment safely.
• Loading & Dispatch: Load and unload steel bar products onto trucks and racks using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Inventory & Racking: Organise stock, apply tags, bundle goods, and assist with yard dispatch duties.
• Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of finished steel bars to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all WHS policies, utilise appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Skills and Experiences

Key Skills & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator, production worker, or labourer within the steel, metal fabrication, or construction sector is desirable.
• Licensing: Current Australian Forklift (LF) ticket and/or Overhead Crane high-risk licence is highly advantageous (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling of heavy loads and work comfortably within an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-oriented approach.
