Job summary

Neumann Steel, a family-owned leader on the Gold Coast, specialises in steel reinforcing and plastic accessory products across QLD and NSW. This role involves steel processing, operating cutting and bending equipment, and ensuring safe loading, dispatch, and inventory control in a busy industrial setting.

Ideal candidates will have forklift and overhead crane licences, the ability to handle heavy loads, and a reliable, team- oriented work ethic. Training is provided in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in the steel, metal fabrication or construction sector is desirable.
• Current Australian Forklift (LF) ticket and/or Overhead Crane high-risk licence is advantageous (training can be provided).
• Physical fitness to perform manual handling of heavy loads in an industrial setting.
• Reliability: strong work ethic, punctuality and team orientation.

Responsibilities

• Steel Processing: Accurately cut and bend reinforcing steel bars per client schedules and production orders.
• Machinery Operation: Safely operate automated and manual rebar cutting and bending equipment.
• Loading & Dispatch: Load/unload steel bar products onto trucks and racks using overhead cranes and material-handling gear.
• Inventory & Racking: Organise stock, apply tags, bundle goods, assist with yard dispatch duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Steel Processing: Accurately cut and bend reinforcing steel bars in accordance with client schedules and production orders.
• Machinery Operation: Operate automated and manual rebar cutting and bending equipment safely.
• Loading & Dispatch: Load and unload steel bar products onto trucks and racks using overhead cranes and material-handling equipment.
• Inventory & Racking: Organise stock, apply tags, bundle goods, and assist with yard dispatch duties.
• Quality Control: Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of finished steel bars to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all WHS policies, utilise appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Key Skills & Requirements

• Experience: Previous experience as a machine operator, production worker, or labourer within the steel, metal fabrication, or construction sector is desirable.
• Licensing: Current Australian Forklift (LF) ticket and/or Overhead Crane high-risk licence is highly advantageous (training can be provided for suitable candidates).
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual handling of heavy loads and work comfortably within an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a team-oriented approach.
