Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking experienced Forklift Operators for a Townsville operation, in a hands-on, fast-paced manufacturing environment dealing with sheet metal and steel building products. The role offers ongoing full-time hours, Monday–Friday rosters, and a pathway to a permanent position.

Day shift available with strong safety focus and supportive team culture. Candidates should hold an LF Forklift Licence, have manufacturing or warehouse experience, and be comfortable handling

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence is required.
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing or warehouse settings.
• Able to handle long-length or non-standard materials safely.
• Physically fit for manual handling and standing tasks.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety; gantry crane experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products.
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and other oversized materials.
• Feed sheet metal into and out of production machinery and roll-forming lines.
• Apply adhesive coatings and protective films to finished products.
• Safely load steel coils onto mills and production equipment.
• Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport.
• Operate gantry cranes (training provided).
• Perform manual handling tasks and stand for extended periods.
• Work closely with production and dispatch teams to meet daily targets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with sheet metal and steel building products used across commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and other oversized materials
• Feed sheet metal into and out of production machinery and roll-forming lines

About You

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, warehouse or steel environments
• Comfortable handling long-length or non-standard materials
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Gantry crane experience highly regarded but not essential
• Reliable, team-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment

Essential Requirements

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Previous experience loading steel, timber, piping, or oversized products
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, transport, yard, or warehouse environments
• Understanding of load restraint and safe loading practices
• Ability to work day shift
