Job summary

Stellar Recruitment is seeking experienced Forklift Operators for our Townsville client, a leading Australian steel manufacturer. This hands-on role involves moving sheet metal and steel building products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with day-shift hours and a pathway to permanent employment.

You will hold a current LF Forklift Licence and bring proven forklift experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings.

Qualifications

• Current LF Forklift Licence required.
• Experience in manufacturing/steel environments preferred.
• Ability to handle long-length or non-standard materials.
• Strong safety commitment and reliable work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products.
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and oversized materials.
• Safely load coils onto mills and production equipment.
• Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport.
• Collaborate with production and dispatch to meet daily targets.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Day Shift

• Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
• Friday: 6:00am - 12:00pm

The Opportunity Due to continued growth, our client is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join their Townsville operation. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, working with sheet metal and steel building products used across commercial and residential projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move steel coils, sheet metal and finished products throughout the facility
• Load and unload trucks with steel roofing, walling and other oversized materials
• Safely load steel coils onto mills and production equipment
• Complete load restraint and strapping duties for transport
• Work closely with production and dispatch teams to meet daily targets
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

About You

• Current LF Forklift Licence
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, warehouse or steel environments
• Comfortable handling long-length or non-standard materials
• Strong commitment to workplace safety
• Reliable, team-focused and able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Previous experience loading steel, timber, piping, or oversized products
• Experience operating forklifts in manufacturing, transport, yard, or warehouse environments
