Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a reliable, hands-on operator to join the Pink Lily and Fitzroy Sands quarries in Rockhampton. This full-time role requires working both independently and as part of a production team, operating sand dredgers, washing and screening plants, excavators, and other quarry gear.

Qualifications include Front End Loader and Excavator tickets, with dredge operations and plant pre-starts experience strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Front End Loader and Excavator tickets are required.
• Dredge operations experience to monitor efficiencies and meet targets.
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance.
• Solid safety mindset with ability to spot hazards.
• Good communication and willingness to speak up in site meetings.
• HR truck licence and forklift ticket are highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate sand dredgers, sand washing and screening plants, excavators and other quarry gear.
• Work independently and as part of the quarry crew to meet daily production targets.
• Assist with pre-start checks, fault finding and basic maintenance as required.
• Maintain safety standards and report hazards in site meetings.

Heidelberg Materials is chasing a reliable, hands‑on operator to join the crew at our Pink Lily and Fitzroy Sands quarries.

About the Role:

• The position is full-time with overtime as required based in Rockhampton.
• The successful applicant must be able to work both independent and part of the sand production operation team.

You’ll be on the tools operating:

• Sand Dredgers
• Fixed and mobile sand washing and screening plants
• Excavators
• Other general quarry gear

Background and Experience required:

• Front End Loader ticket
• Excavator ticket
• Dredge operations including monitoring operational efficiencies to maximize and achieve daily production targets
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance
• Solid safety mindset and ability to spot hazards
• Good communication skills and willingness to speak up in site meetings
• HR truck licence (highly regarded, but not essential)
• Forklift ticket (highly regarded, but not essential)
