Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a hands-on quarry operator in Rockhampton to support Pink Lily & Fitzroy Sands quarries. The role is full-time with overtime, requiring the ability to work alone or within a crew and manage multiple pieces of equipment.

You'll operate sand dredgers, loaders, screens, crushers and other quarry gear, ensuring production targets are met while adhering to safety and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Front End Loader ticket or competency required.
• Excavator ticket or competency required.
• Dredge operations experience including monitoring to hit daily targets.
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance.
• Solid safety mindset and ability to spot hazards.
• Good communication skills and willingness to speak up in site meetings.
• HR truck licence highly regarded but not essential.
• Forklift ticket highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate sand dredgers, front end loaders, washing and screening plants, excavators and other quarry gear.
• Monitor and maximize daily production targets while maintaining safety.
• Perform pre-starts on mobile and fixed plant and identify faults for quick resolution.
• Work independently or as part of a production team in a heavy quarry environment.

Pink Lily & Fitzroy Sands Quarries - Rockhampton

Heidelberg Materials is chasing a reliable, hands-on operator to join the crew at our Pink Lily and Fitzroy Sands quarries.

About the Role:

The position is full-time with overtime as required based in Rockhampton.

The successful applicant must be able to work both independent and part of the sand production operation team.

You'll be on the tools operating:

• Sand Dredgers
• Front end loaders
• Fixed and mobile sand washing and screening plants
• Excavators
• Other general quarry gear

Background and Experience required:

• Front End Loader ticket
• Excavator ticket
• Dredge operations including monitoring operational efficiencies to maximize and achieve daily production targets
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance
• Solid safety mindset and ability to spot hazards
• Good communication skills and willingness to speak up in site meetings
• HR truck licence (highly regarded, but not essential)
• Forklift ticket (highly regarded, but not essential)
