Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a reliable, hands-on operator to join the Pink Lily and Fitzroy Sands quarries in Rockhampton. The full-time role requires working independently and as part of the production team to operate sand dredgers, washing and screening plants, excavators, and related quarry gear.

A Front End Loader and Excavator ticket are required, with dredge operations experience and basic maintenance know-how.

Qualifications

• Front End Loader ticket is required.
• Excavator ticket is required.
• Dredge operations experience and ability to monitor efficiencies to meet daily targets.
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance.
• Solid safety mindset and ability to spot hazards.
• Good communication and willingness to speak up in site meetings.
• HR truck licence is highly regarded but not essential.
• Forklift ticket is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate Sand Dredgers, fixed and mobile sand washing and screening plants, Excavators and other quarry equipment.
• Monitor dredge operations to maximize production targets.
• Perform pre-starts, basic fault finding and maintenance on mobile and fixed plants.
• Participate in site meetings and maintain a strong safety mindset.

Heidelberg Materials is chasing a reliable, hands‑on operator to join the crew at our Pink Lily and Fitzroy Sands quarries.

About the Role:

• The position is full‑time with overtime as required based in Rockhampton.
• The successful applicant must be able to work both independent and part of the sand production operation team.

You’ll be on the tools operating:

• Sand Dredgers
• Fixed and mobile sand washing and screening plants
• Excavators
• Other general quarry gear

Background and Experience required:

• Front End Loader ticket
• Excavator ticket
• Dredge operations including monitoring operational efficiencies to maximize and achieve daily production targets
• Experience with mobile and fixed plant pre-starts, fault finding and basic maintenance
