Job summary

Ridley Corporation in Cairns is seeking a safety-focused Operator to support production, handling, storage and dispatch of fertiliser products. You will work with a site team in a safety-first environment and operate fixed and mobile plant, completing ERP records and contributing to continuous improvement.

The role emphasises health and environmental compliance, teamwork and accurate operational documentation, with opportunities to contribute to site-wide safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience operating fixed and/or mobile plant in production, manufacturing, logistics or distribution.
• Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Sound computer skills, including ERP systems such as SAP or D365 (desirable).
• Loader or other mobile plant competency (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Safely operate fixed and mobile plant equipment to support production, product handling, storage and dispatch activities.
• Complete production and dispatch activities in accordance with schedules, quality standards and site procedures.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Accurately complete operational records and ERP transactions (SAP/D365).
• Maintain high housekeeping and environmental compliance across the site.
• Follow safe work procedures and contribute to Ridley’s Zero Harm culture.
• Collaborate with colleagues, contractors and transport providers to achieve outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity and operations.

This hands-on role is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient production, handling, storage and dispatch of fertiliser products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
