The Role:

As our Operations Support Officer, you will work closely with the Operations Manager and Supervisors to support the daily operations of the Asphalt team. This is a diverse role that combines operational coordination, workforce planning, plant and equipment scheduling, tender support, payroll and accounts administration.

Your ability to stay organised, anticipate operational requirements and keep people, plant and information moving will play an important part in the efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day support and assistance to the Operations Manager and Supervisors to ensure efficient and smooth delivery of Asphalt operations.
• Assist with roster scheduling, staffing resources and crew allocation to ensure operational requirements are met with efficiency
• Provide support to the Operations Manager throughout the pricing and tendering process
• Coordinate plant and equipment availability and allocation to meet job requirements to ensure no down time due to plant accessibility
• Coordinate employee training, licences and competency requirements to ensure crews meet project and compliance requirements.
• Assist with operational documentation, reporting and general project administration.
• Weekly payroll processing and accounts payable and receivable processing
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiencies and day-to-day operations.

About You:

We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable and comfortable taking ownership of their responsibilities.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in an operations support, project administration, finance, or similar role.
• Experience in the Asphalt Industry, although this is desirable rather than essential.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The confidence to liaise with managers, supervisors, crews, suppliers, subcontractors and clients.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
• The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Initiative and a genuine desire to learn, develop and progress within the business.
