Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to establish and lead a new housing program in Queensland. Based in Toowoomba, you will oversee Housing Services, Asset Services and Community Development, building a capable team and guiding day-to-day operations toward outcomes that benefit tenants and communities.

You will mobilise a multidisciplinary team, drive service delivery transitions from project setup to ongoing operations, and foster a positive, customer-focused culture

Qualifications

• Proven operational leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong people leadership skills, coaching and developing teams through change.
• Experience managing operational performance, KPIs, budgets and service delivery outcomes.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement across government, community and industry sectors.
• Sound understanding of compliance, governance and risk management within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead Housing Services, Asset Services and Community Development operations to deliver exceptional tenant, community and business outcomes.
• Provide strong leadership, coaching and development to a multidisciplinary team, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
• Drive operational performance by monitoring KPIs, implementing improvements and ensuring service excellence across all programs.
• Manage operational budgets, financial performance, forecasting and resource allocation to achieve sustainable outcomes.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government agencies, funders, community organisations and industry stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and governance requirements, maintaining high standards of risk and quality management.
• Use data, insights and evidence-based practices to inform decision-making, service design and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Champion an integrated service delivery approach, collaborating across housing, community services and asset management to enhance tenant and community outcomes.
