Job summary

GrainCorp is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of sites across the Darling Downs & Maranoa region, driving safe, efficient and commercially effective outcomes. The role is senior, field-based, and involves mentoring sites and teams while delivering results through others.

You will coach site leaders, balance safety with service and cost, and build capability across geographically dispersed operations to ensure seasonal success for customers and the business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading multiple sites or regional operations.
• Strong operational and commercial acumen balancing safety, service, productivity and cost.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams with limited daily visibility.
• Coaching-focused leadership style with development conversations and capability building.
• Decisive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with safety focus.
• Strong financial literacy and planning capability.

• Lead the performance of a portfolio of GrainCorp sites across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
• Develop and coach Site Managers to build leadership capability and high-performing regional teams.

• Lead harvest readiness, workforce planning and operational execution for seasonal outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with growers, stakeholders and internal teams to support excellence and service.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced operational leader to lead a portfolio of sites across the Daling Downs & Maranoa region. You will drive safe, efficient and commercially effective outcomes while developing the next generation of leaders. This is a senior leadership opportunity that is in the field front line leading and mentoring. Your success comes through coaching others, building capability and delivering results through your team.

This role contributes by:

• Leading the performance of multiple GrainCorp sites, ensuring strong outcomes across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People
• Developing and coaching Site Managers to build leadership capability, strengthen succession pipelines and create high-performing teams across the region
• Driving consistent operational standards, compliance and continuous improvement across a geographically dispersed portfolio of sites
• Leading harvest readiness, workforce planning and operational execution to ensure successful seasonal outcomes for customers and the business
• Building strong relationships with growers, stakeholders and internal teams to support operational excellence and customer service outcomes

About you

We're seeking a proven operational leader with experience managing multiple sites or leading a regional operational portfolio within agriculture, agribusiness, logistics, supply chain, mining or a similarly complex operational environment.

• Proven experience leading leaders, with a track record of developing capable managers and high-performing teams
• Strong operational and commercial acumen, with experience balancing safety, service, productivity and cost outcomes
• The ability to influence and lead across geographically dispersed teams, building trust and maintaining standards without daily visibility
• A coaching-first leadership style, using questions, development conversations and capability building to achieve results
• Confidence making decisions in fast-paced and high-pressure environments while maintaining a focus on safety and operational performance
