Job summary

GrainCorp in Elmore, Victoria, is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to oversee day-to-day grain receival, storage and outload operations at our site.

You’ll lead a team to deliver a safe, efficient service across road and rail handling, and support the Site Manager with budgeting, targets and workforce planning.

This is a hands-on leadership role during harvest season, supervising a large seasonal workforce.

Responsibilities

• Work with Grain Handler teams to deliver safe grain handling at receival, storage and outload.
• Coordinate day-to-day workflow and support to attract, select, train, and develop team members.
• Develop and maintain relationships with growers, customers and local stakeholders.
• Assist Site Manager with budgeting, financial planning and achieving site targets.
• Support resource planning for grain receival/outload during peak and off-peak.
• Plan and execute maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality reporting.
• Supervise a large seasonal workforce across harvest periods at multiple sites.

This role contributes by:

• Working alongside a team of Grain Handler undertaking grain handling activities to deliver a safe and effective service in the receival, storage and outload of grain via road and rail.


• Coordinating day-to-day workflow of the team and support to attract, select, train, and develop permanent and casual team members


• Developing and maintaining relationships with growers, customers, local community groups and internal stakeholders


• Assisting the Site Manager to implement and review site budget, participate in site financial planning, and to achieve site targets (e.g., $/tonne targets, road haulage rates, receival/outload KPIs)


• Supporting the resource planning for grain receival / outload activity during peak and off-peak periods


• Supporting the planning and execution of scheduled and ad-hoc maintenance, grain protection, safety and quality activities and related reporting


• Supervising a large seasonal workforce during our busy harvest intake periods, including at multiple sites.
