We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our Regional Office in Griffith and play a critical leadership role in supporting Local Aboriginal Land Councils (LALCs) across the region.
Reporting directly to the Zone Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Griffith regional office, providing strategic advice, managing a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring effective support is delivered to LALCs throughout the region.
This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to influence outcomes for Aboriginal communities while supporting the implementation of NSWALC's strategic priorities.
Provide high-level operational and strategic support to the Zone Director
Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing regional team.
Prepare detailed reports, briefings and recommendations on complex operational, governance and community matters.
Oversee financial, human resource and operational functions of the Regional Office.
Support LALCs to comply with the Aboriginal Land Rights Act and related legislative requirements.
Analyse risks and develop effective risk management strategies.
Deliver governance and capacity-building training to LALCs and community stakeholders.
Build strong relationships with LALCs, government agencies and key stakeholders across the region.
Represent NSWALC and the Zone Director at forums, meetings and community events when required.
You are a strategic and people-focused leader with a strong understanding of Aboriginal communities and the ability to navigate complex operational environments.
To be successful you will possess:
Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in people leadership, program management, business management or a related field.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing diverse teams and delivering operational outcomes.
Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural practices, values and contemporary community issues.
Exceptional written communication skills with experience preparing executive-level reports and briefings.
Advanced analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Experience interpreting and implementing legislation, policy and governance frameworks.
A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout the LALC network.
