Job summary

Adaptalift Group Pty Ltd in Adelaide seeks an Operations Manager to oversee Pete’s Vehicle Transport’s SA operations, focusing on hire, returns, compliance, maintenance coordination and customer handovers.

You will lead equipment preparation, supervise inspections, support sales leads, manage regulatory checks, and build customer relationships while coordinating with branches and partners.

Qualifications

• Experience managing operations in a fleet/hire/transport or mechanical services environment.
• Strong understanding of equipment preparation, returns, inspections, servicing and compliance.
• Minimum HR licence and willingness to upgrade to HC.
• Confident working with customers, suppliers, contractors and dealer networks.
• Comfortable supporting sales activities, such as following up leads and enquiries, preparing quotes and attending new business meetings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for Pete’s Vehicle Transport in SA, including hire, returns, preparation and handovers.
• Manage compliance, inspections, servicing and end-of-hire activity.
• Coordinate equipment delivery, driver familiarisation and service support.
• Support rental management with records, quotes and customer enquiries.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections and defect resolution.
• Build and nurture customer relationships to grow business.

About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role will oversee daily operations for the ATR truck rental business in South Australia, while also supporting customer growth and business development activity. The role has a strong operational focus, with responsibility across equipment returns, hire preparation, customer handovers, compliance, maintenance coordination and support with local sales leads and enquiries.

• Manage equipment returns, inspections, reporting, damage records and end of hire reconciliation
• Oversee equipment preparation, including cleaning, basic repairs, servicing, safety checks and pre hire inspections
• Coordinate equipment delivery and handover to customers, including driver familiarisation and service support
• Support rental management, including vehicle hire, handover, return activity and accurate rental records
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, defect resolution, servicing and compliance requirements
• Build customer relationships, follow up leads, prepare quotes and support customer growth

About You

• Experience managing operations in a similar environment, such as fleet, hire, transport or mechanical services
• Strong understanding of equipment preparation, returns, inspections, servicing and compliance
• Minimum HR licence and willingness to upgrade to HC
• Confident working with customers, suppliers, contractors and dealer networks
• Comfortable supporting sales activities, such as following up leads and enquiries, preparing quotes and attending new business meetings
• Comfortable working autonomously and managing competing operational priorities
