Lindsay Australia Limited in Melbourne is seeking a Warehouse Leading Hand to support the Warehouse Supervisor and drive efficient, safe operations in a fast-paced environment. This afternoon-shift role starts at 12 pm, Monday to Friday, and focuses on guiding a small team, coordinating stock and ensuring timely processes across the depot.

You will oversee loading/unloading, manage perishable goods handling, and maintain paperwork accuracy while promoting strong safety practices.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience in inventory management.
• Current and valid forklift licence.
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills.
• Experience with perishable goods handling preferred.
• Excellent planning and organisation with attention to detail.
• Able to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsabilités

• Support the day-to-day coordination of the warehouse floor, forklift drivers and on-site stock.
• Coordinate the loading, unloading, handling and consolidation of perishable goods.
• Ensure all timeslot requirements are met.
• Complete paperwork and reporting accurately and on time.
• Provide hands-on guidance to team members, lead by example and elevate operational issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
• Maintain safe work practices across all warehouse operations.

Our Melbourne depot is a key metropolitan operation within Lindsay Transport’s network. As a leading transporter of fresh and refrigerated produce, we proudly support Australian farmers at every stage—from planting and packaging through to connecting their products with retailers and families via our extensive road, rail and logistics network.

We’re looking for a Warehouse Leading Hand to join our Melbourne warehouse. Working closely with the Warehouse Supervisor, you’ll provide hands-on support to the team and help ensure the smooth, safe and efficient operation of a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment. This is an afternoon-shift position commencing at 12 pm, Monday to Friday.

What You’ll Do:

• Experience in inventory management.
• A current and valid forklift licence.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to guide team members and support daily workflow.
• Experience loading and unloading freight, ideally including perishable goods.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to adapt to ever-changing priorities.
