Job summary

Jet Aviation Cairns is seeking an aviation-minded, hands-on Operations Coordinator to join our FBO team. You will support safe, efficient handling of VIP, corporate, governmental, medical and private aircraft, coordinating fuel, catering, ground transport and services.

In a 24/7 roster environment you will marshal aircraft, manage baggage, operate ground support equipment and maintain accurate operational records.

Qualifications

• Experience in FBO operations or aviation support.
• Current ASIC or ability to obtain one.
• Driver’s licence and airport driving requirements where applicable.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 roster, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Own aircraft movements from request to departure, coordinating with pilots, crew, passengers and suppliers.
• Marshal aircraft and handle baggage according to procedures.
• Operate FBO ground support equipment where trained and authorised.

Jet Aviation is looking for an aviation-minded, hands-on individual to join our Cairns FBO (Fixed Base Operations) team as an Operations Coordinator. This is an operational role at the centre of our FBO, supporting the safe, efficient and professional handling of VIP, corporate, governmental, medical and private aircraft.

No two aircraft movements are the same. Schedules change, customer requirements evolve and priorities can shift quickly. You will need to be ready to step in wherever required—from marshalling an aircraft and handling baggage to coordinating fuel and catering, operating ground support equipment, assisting passengers and crew, and completing operational records.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Full-time position with a 24/7 roster environment
Annual salary from AUD $70,000–$80,000 plus superannuation

Your Responsibilities

You will take ownership of assigned aircraft movements from initial request through to departure, working closely with pilots, crew, passengers, suppliers, airport stakeholders and internal teams.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Supporting the safe and efficient arrival, turnaround and departure of aircraft across a range of movements.
• Marshalling aircraft in accordance with approved procedures and operational requirements.
• Operating FBO ground support equipment, including vehicles, stairs, conveyor belts and ground power units, where trained and authorised.
• Handling baggage, equipment and other items safely and efficiently.
• Assisting with aircraft towing and positioning activities where trained and authorised.
• Performing water and toilet servicing, waste removal and other aircraft support activities.
• Preparing aircraft, passenger areas, crew areas and FBO facilities to a high professional standard.
• Coordinating fuel, catering, ground transport and other third-party services.
• Responding effectively to delays, schedule changes and unexpected operational requirements.
• Maintaining awareness of aircraft movements, ramp activity, vehicle movements and operational risks.
• Recording aircraft movements and related activities accurately and in real time in FBO One and other relevant systems.
• Supporting team members, sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement.

• Are confident communicating with pilots, crew, passengers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Hold a current ASIC or have the ability to obtain one.
• Hold a current driver’s licence and can meet airport driving requirements, where applicable.

Your Application will be Highly Regarded if you have:

• Previous experience in FBO
• Aircraft knowledge and experience
• Airline, Aircraft charter, Corporate aviation or general aviation operations experience

FBO operations are dynamic, ever changing and sometimes unpredictable environment. Aircraft may arrive early or late, customer and client requirements may change at short notice, and multiple operational priorities may need to be managed simultaneously.

You could be coordinating a service one minute and working on the ramp the next. The team may need you to handle baggage, prepare an aircraft, operate equipment, assist a passenger or support another movement to maintain operational continuity.
