Job summary

Queensland Government is offering a role at Theodore Multipurpose Health Service to support patient care and facility operations. The position covers basic patient assistance, catering, laundry, cleaning, and grounds maintenance in a small regional hospital setting.

Located 229km southwest of Rockhampton along the Leichhardt Highway, Theodore offers the opportunity to step into a close-knit rural community where your work genuinely connects with the people who call the region home.At Theodore Multipurpose Health Service, you'll be part of a small, 10-bed facility providing a broad mix of emergency, inpatient, outpatient, residential aged care and telehealth services. It's a setting where you can build strong relationships, enjoy a varied scope of practice and become a valued part of the local community, while experiencing the lifestyle and character of regional Queensland.About the role:Support patient care and comfort by assisting with basic patient care and responding to individual dietary needs, preferences and clinical requirements.Deliver high standards of cleaning and hygiene across the health service and staff accommodation, following relevant policies, procedures and safety standards.Provide catering and laundry services, including meal preparation, safe food handling and operation of laundry equipment and chemicals.Maintain the facility and grounds, including gardening, waste management, fleet vehicles, equipment and preventative maintenance requirements.About you:Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, patients and consumers.A team-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively across a multi-skilled team while maintaining a strong customer service focus.Good self-management skills, including the ability to organise, prioritise and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.Sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to follow instructions and respond appropriately to day-to-day operational needs.A Food Safety qualification is desirable but not mandatory.What we offer:An hourly rate between $41.43 - $44.20 p.h.
