Job summary

Fortescue seeks a Mine Planning Engineer for the Iron Bridge Operations Planning team. You will provide medium term mine planning support, including pit and production scheduling, mine design, and budget forecasting.

The role reports to the Senior Mining Engineer and focuses on delivering 2-year plans with associated infrastructure designs. Key responsibilities include optimizing schedules, costings, and stakeholder communication, with strong emphasis on collaboration across Approvals, Geology

Qualifications

Proven experience as a mining engineer.
Strong interpersonal and planning skills across 3 month and 2 year horizons.
Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or similar.
Experience with open pit deep pit mining and hard rock operations.
Proficiency in Excel and mining planning software.

Responsibilities

Optimize and deliver 2-year mining schedules and related infrastructure designs.
Schedule mining and related activities across planning horizons.
Ensure timely delivery of plans and schedules to internal timelines.
Costing of mine plans for budgeting and forecasting.
Collaborate with Approvals, Geology, Geotechnical, Surface Water and Hydrogeology teams.
Assess mining methodology options for cost and productivity.
Communicate plans and designs to stakeholders.
Deliver pit progression, waste schedules, fleet requirements and technical guidance.
