Job summary

Tomingley Gold Operations is seeking a Safety and Training Coordinator to lead safety and training for the open cut operations. The role reports to the HSEC Manager and will drive risk management, training records, and competency across the open cut teams.

The position requires a minimum of three years in mining or similar, with certificates IV in WHS and Training and Assessment, and the ability to lead a small team of trainers.

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in mining or a similar high risk workplace.
• Experience coordinating safety and training activities.
• Ability to lead a small team and work with operators, supervisors and contractors.
• Excellent writing, computer and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate safety support in the pit and discuss hazards with crews and supervisors.
• Assist with risk assessments, management of change and safe work procedures.
• Support incident reporting and investigations and track actions to close-out.
• Review safety trends and share information via meetings, toolbox talks and reports.
• Plan training with open cut leadership before new equipment or tasks.
• Coordinate inductions, task training, and competency checks for employees and contractors.
• Review and update open cut procedures and training material with relevant teams.
• Oversee training and competency records and report gaps and expiries.
