Job summary

Hunter Recruitment Group is partnering with an established community based children's services provider in the Hunter to recruit a Team Leader - OOSH & Vacation Care. This hands-on leadership role focuses on developing people, improving practice and maintaining floor presence across the service.

You will coach Room Leaders, support educators and oversee compliance, while balancing operations and service culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or working towards; relevant qualification for school age care.
• Working with Children Check required.
• First Aid & CPR in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012)
• Child Protection Training
• National child safety training
• Current Driver's Licence

Responsibilities

• Coach, guide and support Room Leaders and Educators.
• Be visible and approachable across the OOSH services.
• Support with children's behaviours, transitions, supervision and consistency of practice.
• Model best practice and build consistency across the team.
• Support quality programming aligned with MTOP (My Time, Our Place).
• Assist with operational matters, incidents and family concerns.
• Support compliance, documentation, child safety and quality improvement.
• Contribute to staff development, onboarding and service operations.
• Step into Room Leader duties when required.
• Collaborate with OOSH leadership to continuously improve the service.

Job description

Hunter Recruitment Group is partnering with an established community based children's services provider in the Hunter to recruit a Team Leader - OOSH & Vacation Care.

This is a hands on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, improving practice and being part of the day to day life of a service. You'll work alongside an experienced OOSH leader, balancing team leadership, service operations, compliance and administration with time supporting Room Leaders, Educators and children across the services.

What will the role look like?

• Coach, guide and support Room Leaders and Educators
• Be visible and approachable across the OOSH services
• Support Room Leaders and Educators with children's behaviours, transitions, supervision and consistent practice
• Model best practice and help build consistency across the team
• Support quality programming aligned with My Time, Our Place (MTOP)
• Assist with operational matters, incidents and family concerns
• Support compliance, documentation, child safety and quality improvement
• Contribute to staff development, onboarding and service operations
• Step into Room Leader duties when required due to leave, ratios or operational needs
• Work closely with the OOSH leadership team to continuously improve the service

About You

You may already be a Team Leader, Coordinator, Assistant Director, 2IC or experienced Room Leader ready for your next step.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who can lead without losing their connection to the floor.

You'll bring:

• Experience within OOSH, Outside School Hours Care or Children's Services
• Leadership experience supporting or developing educators
• A collaborative and approachable leadership style
• Confidence providing coaching, feedback and guidance
• Strong understanding of child safety, compliance and quality practice
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Flexibility to step in and support the service when needed

Essential Requirements

• Diploma of School Age Education and Care, equivalent qualification or working towards
• Working with Children Check
• First Aid & CPR in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012)

• Basic Food Handler Certificate
• Current Driver's Licence
