anzuk is seeking an experienced OSHC leader to drive operations in a community-based service in Ryde, NSW. The role sits between Assistant Director and Team Leader, with daily on-floor leadership and mentoring responsibilities.

You will oversee Before/After School Care and Vacation Care, ensuring alignment with NQF and MTOP, while fostering a positive service culture and staff development.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on leadership role that sits between the Assistant Director and Team Leader positions within the service structure. You'll be highly visible on the floor, supporting educators, mentoring emerging leaders, and ensuring the service operates smoothly, safely, and in line with the National Quality Framework.

You'll lead daily operations across Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care programs, while supporting compliance, rostering, staff development, family engagement, child safety initiatives, and program quality.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational leadership with relationship building and wants to make a genuine impact within a close-knit service environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the day-to-day operations of the OSHC service
• Mentoring and supporting Team Leaders and Educators
• Managing floor operations and maintaining a positive service culture
• Overseeing staffing, ratios, rosters, and workforce compliance
• Supporting recruitment, induction, onboarding, and training processes
• Driving quality improvement initiatives and maintaining regulatory compliance
• Supporting Vacation Care planning and delivery
• Building strong relationships with families, children, educators, and school stakeholders
• Ensuring NSW Child Safe Standards are embedded into everyday practice
• Managing records, training compliance, WWCC requirements, and staff development plans
• Acting as Responsible Person and supporting safe daily operations across the service

Who We’re Looking For

You are a people-focused leader who enjoys being involved on the floor, mentoring others, and creating positive experiences for children and families.

You may currently be:

• An OSHC Coordinator seeking a smaller, community-focused environment
• An Assistant Coordinator or 2IC ready to step into a broader leadership role
• An Educational Leader looking to expand your operational leadership experience
• A senior educator with strong leadership capability and ambitions for career progression

To be successful, you’ll ideally bring:

• Experience in OSHC, School Age Care, Early Childhood, or Children’s Services
• Previous leadership, senior educator, or coordination experience
• Sound knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF), NQS and My Time, Our Place (MTOP)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Experience supporting teams through coaching and mentoring
• A collaborative and solutions-focused leadership style
• A genuine passion for child-centred practice and high-quality care environments

Essential Requirements

• Current Working With Children Check
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
• Child Protection training
• National Police Check
• Understanding of NSW Child Safe Standards and child safe practices
