Active OOSH is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Abermain service to lead a dedicated team and oversee safe, compliant, high-quality care for children. You will work with the Service Manager and aspiring leader to support daily operations, supervision, and positive outcomes.

The role emphasizes child safety, educator support, and continuous improvement within the NQF framework. Flexible shifts are available, with a focus on work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Current paid Working with Children Check.
• First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training.
• CHCPRT025 Child Protection training.
• Child Safety training.
• Management or leadership experience.
• Police Check within past six months.
• Experience with children with complex needs.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Manager to join our Abermain service. Working alongside the Service Managers and Aspiring Leader, you will help lead the team, oversee daily operations and achieve safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes for children.

Hours

Flexible shifts are available Monday to Friday:

• Before School Care: between 6:30 am and 9:30 am
• After School Care: between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm
• Additional hours during Vacation Care

Your Role

• Make child safety and wellbeing your first priority.
• Maintain active supervision and correct educator-to-child ratios.
• Lead and support educators to provide safe, high-quality care.
• Oversee daily operations, routines and environments.
• Ensure compliance with the NQF and Child Safe Standards.
• Communicate professionally with families while maintaining confidentiality.
• Build strong relationships with children, families and the school.
• Support continuous improvement across the service.

About You

• A confident and organised leader committed to child safety and best practice.
• Experienced in OOSH or early childhood education and care.
• Knowledgeable about the NQF and relevant legislation.
• Genuinely interested in working with children.
• Able to create fun, inclusive and meaningful experiences.
• Reliable, enthusiastic and able to work collaboratively.

Essential Requirements

• Childcare or education qualification, or currently working towards one.
