OOSH Newcastle Group is seeking an Assistant Coordinator for our Mount Hutton NSW centre on a permanent part-time basis, 5 days per week. We are seeking an Assistant Coordinator to join our Mount Hutton NSW centre on a permanent part-time basis, working 5 days per week. In this role, you will support the coordination and delivery of quality out-of-school hours care programmes, ensuring children have engaging, safe and developmentally appropriate experiences. The Assistant Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Centre Coordinator and educators to maintain high standards of care, learning and compliance. This position is integral to supporting the smooth operation of the centre and contributing to positive outcomes for the children and families we serve.
Support the Centre Coordinator in the day-to-day management and operation of the out-of-school hours care programme
Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational activities and experiences for children
Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment that complies with all relevant legislation and regulations
Support educators in supervising, guiding and mentoring children to promote positive behaviour and social-emotional development
Assist with administration tasks, including attendance records, parent communication and documentation
Help coordinate routines and transitions throughout the day to ensure smooth operations
Support the induction and training of new team members as required
Contribute to a positive, collaborative and inclusive workplace culture
Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries with children, families and colleagues
Assist with monitoring and maintaining compliance with centre policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Support the team in maintaining and completing domestic cleaning duties and maintenance of the service and its facilities on a daily basis.
A relevant childcare qualification or equivalent (or willingness to undertake training).
Current Working with Children Check clearance or ability to obtain one. Able to pass working with children checks that apply to Australia.
Current CPR and First Aid certification including Anaphylaxis and Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain).
Demonstrated knowledge of child development and best practice in early childhood education and care.
Accredited Child Protection Training Certification and the Mandatory Gecko Child Safety Training - Foundations of child safety.
Experience Working with children.
Legal right to work in Australia.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.

Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the centre.
A collaborative approach to working within a team environment.
Knowledge of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks in childcare (or willingness to develop this).
