Job summary

Scenic World in the Blue Mountains is seeking an experienced Event Production Manager to oversee the technical production behind its events program for a 12-month maternity cover, onsite in the Blue Mountains. Reporting to the Senior Event Manager, you will lead production planning, site surveys, budgets, schedules and coordination of AV, equipment, contractors and safety.

This hands-on role requires problem solving and a passion for creating safe, memorable visitor experiences in a live tourism

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Event Management, Event Production or a related discipline are required.
• Experience coordinating production and operational delivery of events.
• Strong understanding of event safety, risk management & WHS.
• Highly developed organisational & project management skills.
• Strong communication & stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision-making abilities.
• Attention to detail and proactive issue identification.
• Collaborative, hands-on approach to delivery.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays & after hours.
• Experience in tourism, hospitality, attractions or similar environments.
• Experience delivering events in live venues or public attractions.
• Experience coordinating technical production (infrastructure, staging, lighting, audio).
• First Aid certification is desirable.
• Experience coordinating multiple external contractors and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production planning and onsite delivery of Scenic World’s major events and activations.
• Translate event concepts into practical production requirements, timelines and delivery plans.
• Develop and manage production schedules, run sheets, site plans, bump-in and bump-out requirements.
• Coordinate event infrastructure, equipment, technical requirements, suppliers and contractors.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, Marketing and other teams to ensure requirements are considered.
• Manage external production suppliers, contractors and event partners with clear timelines and responsibilities.
• Work with Safety to identify risks and integrate WHS into planning and delivery.
• Oversee bump-in, onsite production, delivery and bump-out, and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure production needs fit budgets; identify efficiencies and manage costs.
• Provide clear production briefings to teams and contractors.
• Develop and improve production processes, templates and systems.
• Contribute to post-event reviews and apply learnings for future events.
• Keep up-to-date with production trends, technology and practices.
• Promote a positive, collaborative culture and ongoing development.
