Job summary

Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club is seeking a Functions Coordinator to organise our calendar of functions, events and external catering. You’ll work with our Venue Manager, catering team and staff to plan menus, staffing, and run sheets while delivering memorable experiences for members and guests.

This hands-on role combines client service, sales and administration with on-site coordination, room layouts and decor. Flexible evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in functions, events, hospitality, or a registered club.
• Strong organisation, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to liaise with clients and coordinate multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• RSA and RCG certification or ability to obtain before starting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating functions and events from inquiry through delivery.
• Meet with clients, prepare quotes and convert enquiries to bookings.
• Prepare run sheets, floor plans and function details.
• Coordinate menus, guest numbers, dietary needs, and staffing.
• Coordinate room layouts, decorations, and equipment.
• Contribute to styling and presentation of events.
• Brief, train and motivate staff rostered to functions.
• Be hands-on during events to ensure smooth operation.
• Assist with external catering and major race day events.
• Build relationships with local businesses and clubs.
• Identify opportunities to grow bookings and repeat business.
• Suggest new packages and themes based on client feedback.
