Job summary

FCC Construction Australia Pty Ltd in Cairns North QLD is seeking experienced Site and Project Engineers to support the delivery of our Cairns-based project. This role is based at the Woree project site office and is not a FIFO role.

You will coordinate day-to-day site activities, review drawings and specifications, resolve technical issues, manage RFIs, monitor programme progress and ensure safety, quality and compliance while supporting procurement and subcontractor performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant construction project delivery experience; civil and/or building projects
• Have a sound understanding of typical construction specifications used in the Australian construction industry.
• Valid Driver's license

Responsibilities

• HSE: Promote safe work practices, participate in safety meetings, identify site risks and support HSE compliance and documentation.
• Site & Technical Delivery: Coordinate day-to-day site activities, review drawings and specifications, resolve technical issues and support construction delivery.
• Scope & Change Management: Monitor project scope, identify changes and variations, manage RFIs and provide technical input to minimise scope creep.
• Subcontractors & Procurement: Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, support procurement, assess performance and assist with claims and commercial matters.
• Programme & Quality: Monitor progress against programme, coordinate works and interfaces, and ensure construction meets project quality requirements.
• Cost, Risk & Project Controls: Monitor costs, quantities and progress, identify risks and opportunities, maintain project records and support forecasting and reporting.
• Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams, coordinate meetings and maintain clear project communication.
• Project Support: Provide technical and project management support to the Project Manager and contribute to the successful delivery of the project.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or project/construction management
