Job summary

Qantas Airways is seeking a Duty Airport Manager to lead live airport operations from the shift. You will act as the on-shift decision maker, overseeing end-to-end activities and ensuring safety, service and commercial outcomes across on- and off-wing operations.

Operating on a rotating roster at Perth Airport, you will partner with port teams, service providers and authorities to maintain stability, minimise disruption and deliver strong on-time and customer results.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years' experience in frontline operational management (airport operations preferred).
• Proven capability as a people leader, able to motivate and influence teams during live operations.
• Experience managing disruption, competing priorities and real-time decision-making.
• Collaborative, team-player approach across multiple stakeholders and service partners.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and incident management skills.
• Clear communication and confident leading operational briefings.
• Customer-centric mindset balancing service, safety and operations.
• Ability to use operational and performance data to drive outcomes and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead live airport operations and be the on-shift decision maker.
• Take charge of large teams, driving safety outcomes and on-time performance.
• Oversee end-to-end operations across above- and below-the-wing activities.
• Partner with port teams, ground service providers, airport authorities and operational control functions to maintain stability and on-time outcomes.
• Role-model safe behaviours and support frontline teams; drive continuous improvement via clear communication and decisive leadership.
