Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Advisor to deliver expert OHS advice, training and support to managers, HSRs and staff. You will help develop and implement OHS strategies and promote a proactive safety culture across the organisation.

The role focuses on risk prevention, psychosocial hazards, and continuous improvement of safety policies, with a 80-hour fortnightly schedule, permanent full-time status and generous leave and salary packaging

Qualifications

• Sound working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards.
• Strong initiative and demonstrated experience in promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing, monitoring, and improving Barwon Health’s OHSMS to align with legislation and best practice.
• Facilitate effective consultation and communication to support employee participation in safety initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to managers, employees, and HSRs on safety and psychosocial risk matters.
• Support investigation of OHS and psychosocial incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
