Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking a Work Health and Safety Advisor (Grade 4) within People and Culture to deliver expert OHS advice, training, and support to managers, HSRs, and staff. The role emphasizes psychosocial risk management and a proactive safety culture, with involvement in developing and implementing OHS policies and strategies.

The position is a permanent full-time role (80 hours per fortnight), with five weeks leave and salary packaging.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Regulations, Codes of Practice and relevant Australian Standards.
• Strong initiative and demonstrated experience in promoting and maintaining a positive safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Barwon Health’s OHSMS to ensure alignment with legislative requirements and best practice frameworks.
• Facilitate effective consultation and communication processes to support employee participation in safety initiatives and programs.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, employees, and HSRs on a range of safety and psychosocial risk matters.
• Support the investigation of OHS and psychosocial-related incidents, including root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions.
