Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Tamworth region, with a flexible mix of home visits, community sessions and clinic spaces. You’ll operate within a multi-disciplinary team delivering person-centred therapy to enhance independence and wellbeing.

You’ll assess developmental, cognitive, emotional and physical function, set goals, provide evidence-based interventions, and stay up-to-date with disability services legislation.

Qualifications

• Must be an AHPRA-registered Occupational Therapist.
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability.
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an allocated caseload and deliver timely therapeutic services.
• Assess participants’ development, cognition, emotional and physical function using clinical observations and standardised assessments.
• Interpret findings to formulate participant-specific treatment goals.
• Provide evidence-based interventions to improve quality of life and meet goals.

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we’re looking for an Occupational Therapist to support participants across the Tamworth region, depending on where you're based - work close to home!

In this role you will

• Manage an allocated caseload (based on your negotiated hours) and deliver timely therapeutic services
• Assess participants’ developmental, cognitive, emotional, psychological and physical function and capacity through clinical observations and standardised assessments
• Interpret findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each participant
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help participants enhance their quality of life and meet their goals
• Maintain awareness of current legislation to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Current Occupational Therapy membership with AHPRA
• Passionate about community‑based support for people with disability
• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment
• Time management & organisational skills to manage varied caseload
