Job summary

SESLHD Drug and Alcohol Services is seeking a Nurse Educator (Grade 3) to lead the education and professional development for staff across outpatient and inpatient D&A services. The role focuses on implementing NSW Health clinical care standards, coordinating training schedules, and evaluating educational outcomes to support quality care.

You will coordinate workforce development, orientation, and rotations for graduate nurses, ensuring alignment with contemporary adult learning principles

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and holds post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area.
• Recent experience in the development of practice.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs.
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles.
• Computer literacy and understanding of relevant information systems.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Workforce Development Package for the AOD NSW Health Clinical Care Standards for AOD Treatment.
• Coordination and evaluation of the education and training program to the Drug & Alcohol multidisciplinary workforces, including in-service schedules, staff orientation, clinical skills and competencies, and other professional development activities.
• Establishment of the Drug & Alcohol Service as an active participant in the SESLHD GradStart program by coordinating and evaluating rotational placements for graduate nurses.
