Job summary

St George Hospital in Sydney is seeking a Nurse Educator Grade 2 for Leadership Education and Development on a permanent part-time basis. The role focuses on education, training and professional development for staff within SESLHD, with a vision to provide exemplary patient and family-centered care.

The Nurse Educator Grade 2 will lead nursing education initiatives across a public hospital and affiliated services, contributing to workforce planning, clinical governance and education delivery

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Recent experience in the development of practice.
• Holding post registration clinical or education qualification relevant to the position.
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs.
• Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles.
• Computer literacy and understanding of relevant information systems.
• Demonstrated extensive educational experience in an acute care facility.

Responsibilities

• The Nurse Educator is responsible for the efficient and effective provision and evaluation of education, training and professional development for the new and existing staff.
• Coordinate nursing education portfolios or programs across a public hospital or affiliated health organisation.
