Job summary

Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) invites applications for a District Nurse Educator to lead the development, delivery and evaluation of education and professional development across the MLHD Nursing and Midwifery Service.

The role focuses on strategic educational leadership, design of innovative programs, simulation-based training and clinical coaching to support staff at every career stage. AHPRA registration and a postgraduate education qualification are essential.

Qualifications

• Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife.
• Postgraduate qualification relevant to the education portfolio.
• Evidence of a current Class C driver's licence and willingness to travel for work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, delivery and evaluation of contemporary education and professional development programs.
• Deliver facilitated education sessions, simulation-based training and clinical coaching.
• Identify workforce learning needs and develop tailored learning and development plans.
• Support staff to achieve and maintain clinical competencies and improve professional practice.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and expert advisory support to Clinical Nurse Educators.
• Collaborate with clinicians, managers and key stakeholders across the multidisciplinary workforce.
• Ensure education programs reflect current evidence, legislation, policies and best-practice principles.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, research and evaluation activities.
• Participate in District and State education forums, committees and working groups.
• Champion innovative education practices and promote continuous learning across MLHD.
