Job summary

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is seeking a Nurse Educator Grade 3 for the Langton Centre in Surry Hills, Sydney. This permanent full-time role involves leading education and workforce development for the Drug and Alcohol Service across SESLHD clinics and hospitals.

The successful candidate will coordinate and evaluate nursing education programs, support graduate rotations, and apply contemporary adult learning principles within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
• Post-registration nursing/education qualifications relevant to the clinical area
• Experience in the development of practice
• Demonstrated effective leadership skills including communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation
• Ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs
• Understanding of contemporary adult learning principles
• Computer literacy and understanding of information systems

Responsibilities

• Implementation of the Workforce Development Package for the AOD NSW Health Clinical Care Standards for AOD Treatment
• Coordination and evaluation of the education and training program to the Drug & Alcohol multidisciplinary workforces, including in-service schedules, staff orientation, clinical skills and competencies, and other professional development activities
• Establishment of the Drug & Alcohol Service as an active participant in the SESLHD GradStart program by coordinating and evaluating rotational placements for graduate nurses
