Job summary

Brisbane Catholic Education’s St Peter Claver College, Riverview, invites applications for an experienced Program Leader (Numeracy Improvement Coordinator). You will lead the school’s numeracy program, supervise teaching staff, and drive evidence-based teaching to improve student outcomes.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and stakeholder communication, in a Catholic school setting with a focus on professional learning and partnership development.

Qualifications

• Eligibility to work within Australia for the period of appointment.
• Be a committed, practicing Catholic, or in an ecumenical school, a committed, practicing member of one of the faith traditions represented in that ecumenical school.
• Experience in school leadership, or a role providing support and leadership to Catholic schools, or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leading academic, cultural, outreach, or sporting programs.
• Proven ability to supervise and support teaching staff across a school setting.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate program logistics, resources, and operations.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, staff, and external partners.
• Capacity to build and maintain partnerships with external organisations to enhance program outcomes.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of the school in all aspects of program leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the designated program in the school.
• Supervise teachers engaged in the program throughout the school.
• Induct new teachers within the program (or supervise the induction where it is undertaken by another experienced teacher).
• Monitor program outcomes for students and address areas of concern through appropriate interventions.
• Coordinate the work of staff engaged in delivering the designated program in the light of the values and ethos of the school.
• Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
• Organise program activities including resources, transport, operations, staff, etc.
• Keep abreast of best practice in the program area through ongoing professional reading and research.
