Job summary

Carranballac P-9 College in Melbourne seeks a Learning Specialist Numeracy to lead high-quality teaching and learning, deliver demonstration lessons, and mentor teachers to improve numeracy outcomes.

You will work with leadership to strengthen curriculum sequencing, assessment and feedback, and lead Professional Learning Communities to drive school improvement across Foundation to Year 9.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and numeracy across F–9.
• Ability to model exemplary teaching across the curriculum with a focus on literacy and numeracy.
• Experience in instructional coaching, demonstration lessons, observation and feedback.
• Ability to lead coherent numeracy improvement and curriculum planning.
• Provide professional learning and develop PLCs for school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Modelling exemplary classroom practice through demonstration lessons.
• Working with the school leadership team to define effective teacher practice.
• Leading and modelling whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Providing professional learning, observation protocols and feedback processes.
• Modelling data-informed feedback to staff to improve practice.
• Providing expert advice on context and strategies for staff professional learning.
• Supervising and mentoring student teachers and teachers.
• Modelling use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Developing school-wide professional learning structures and PLCs.
• Encouraging reflective practice and inquiry to improve practice.
