Job summary

Bay Building Services is recruiting a State Manager to lead and drive all commercial aspects of our NSW business. You will oversee the NSW operations, manage the unit’s financials, and drive growth by attracting new business opportunities while maintaining a high standard of WHS compliance.

The role requires extensive business management and proven leadership of large teams, with a track record in insurance or building and construction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a large team and managing a NSW business.
• Strong financial and operational management skills.
• Ability to formulate and monitor budgets and drive growth.
• Executive experience in Insurance and/or Building & Construction preferred.
• Commitment to WHS and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial operations of the NSW business.
• Manage operations and finances of the unit.
• Formulate and monitor sales budgets and cost budgets.
• Attract and secure new business opportunities.
• Foster a culture of excellence and ensure WHS compliance.
• Lead and engage a large team and manage stakeholder relationships.

About the Role

Key activities (include but are not limited to the following):

• Overall management and responsibility for the NSW business
• Operational and Financial management of the unit
• Formulating and monitoring sales budgets
• Formulating and driving cost budgets
• Attracting and securing new business opportunities
• Driving and nurturing a culture of excellence within the team
• Accountable for state WHS and compliance requirements

Key Performance Indicators:

• Overall profitability of the operations
• Sales, Costs and Overhead budgets
• Lead-time, Customer Service and Employee Engagement KPIs
• Key Client/Contract KPIs
• WHSE compliance measures

Key Professional Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive business management experience
• Proven leadership skills and evidence of effectively leading a large team
• Ability to problem solve and make decisions in a timely manner
• Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships within the supply chain
• Executive experience from within Insurance and/or Building & Construction industry is preferable
