Job summary

Thornlands Play and Learn is seeking an experienced Nominated Supervisor to lead the centre with a strong focus on team development, governance and exceptional service delivery. You will be responsible for mentoring educators, managing staffing, rostering and day-to-day operations while upholding high standards of care and safety.

You will bring a proven leadership background in early childhood, thorough knowledge of NQF/NQS, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is required.
• Current Queensland Blue Card is required.
• Current National Police Check within 6 months.
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications as required.
• All mandatory child safety training current and up to date.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing team within Thornlands Play and Learn.
• Oversee daily centre operations, staffing, rosters and occupancy.

Nominated Supervisor – Thornlands Play and Learn

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Nominated Supervisor to join Thornlands Play and Learn.

We are looking for someone who is ready to come in, have some fun, build strong relationships and make the centre your own!

Thornlands play and Learn is a family-focused centre with a strong, passionate and dedicated team already in place. You will also have the support of an experienced management team who are actively involved and available to support you, your team and the ongoing success of the centre.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be an experienced and confident Nominated Supervisor/early childhood leader.
• Have the ability to positively build, lead and develop effective teams.
• Be a strong communicator who leads with consistency, fairness, accountability and empathy.
• Have a demonstrated commitment to professional pedagogical practice, with the capacity to mentor, coach and support educators to achieve best practice.
• Have a strong understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and its effective implementation.
• Understand the National Quality Standard (NQS) and be confident in driving continuous improvement across the service.
• Have clear experience in capably managing and driving the business and operational aspects of a centre.
• Be confident managing staffing, rosters, occupancy, compliance and day-to-day operations.
• Demonstrate strong organisational and administration skills.
• Have excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
• Be passionate about creating a positive, fun and respectful workplace culture.
• Be committed to child safety and creating an environment where children are safe, respected and heard.

Mandatory Requirements – Must Have

The following requirements are non-negotiable for this position:

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (minimum).
• Current Queensland Blue Card
• Current National Police Check – issued within the previous 6 months.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications as required for the position.
• All mandatory child safety and child protection training must be completed, current and up to date
• Previous experience in a Nominated Supervisor, Centre Director or similar senior early childhood leadership role is highly desirable.
