Job summary

John Holland is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join the Melbourne Water Framework on a project in Werribee, VIC. You will coordinate construction activities and ensure work aligns with plans, designs and specifications.

The role requires LV/HV, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA expertise, and strong commercial acumen for budgeting, reporting and risk management. You will lead subcontractor oversight and ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance on site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with LV and HV systems in water infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation networks.
  • Commercial experience including budgeting and risk reporting.
  • Strong safety focus and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities per plans, designs and specifications.
  • Assist with site construction budgets and reports.
  • Monitor construction progress and report to Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Interpret designs for execution on site.
  • Apply financial acumen in project decisions.

About The Project:

JV partnership between John Holland and KBR delivering innovative and high-quality assets and upgrades with Melbourne Water to ensure communities across Melbourne continue to enjoy high quality water supply and seamless sewage removal and treatment.


The JHG-KBR JV have delivered a wide range of important infrastructure projects for the region including, water and sewer pipeline renewals, treatment plant upgrades, civil and road works and reservoir improvements.


We are looking for an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Melbourne Water Framework on an upcoming project in Werribee, VIC.


Your Role:


  • Coordinate and administer construction engineering activities to ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with plans, designs and specifications

  • Assist with the preparation of site construction budgets and reports

  • Monitor construction progress for adherence to programme and report to the Site Manger or Project Manager

  • Interpret designs for implementation in construction projects

  • Demonstrate financial management skills and commercial acumen when making decisions

  • Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards

  • Execute working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project

  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment to ensure acceptable quality of structures and finishes

  • Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting

  • Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes

  • Utilize effective time management skills including sequencing of work of own and resource time management


About You:


  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Strong experience in Water Infrastructure including Water/Treatment Plant

  • Demonstrated commercial experience to include planning and reporting on progress, cost and risk
