Job summary

Australia Post is seeking a Mail Sorting Officer for the Lismore Delivery Centre to assist with mail preparation for the next day’s delivery. You will handle letters, parcels and Express Post items, and help load/unload mail from bags and containers while using pallet devices and hand tools.

This entry‑level role emphasizes safety, teamwork and reliability, with opportunities to progress into processing, delivery and logistics paths across the business.

Qualifications

• Willing to work full-time permanent night shift roster.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one through Australia Post.
• Able to handle mail and parcels up to 16 kg.
• Flexible and willing to work extra hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing letters, parcels and Express Post items.
• Sort mail that cannot be machine-processed and help load/unload mail from bags, trays and containers.
• Work across processing equipment using load-shifting tools with the team to keep mail moving.
