Job summary

Tangalooma Island Resort is seeking a Manager on Duty to oversee night operations, handle guest and staff issues, and coordinate across departments. The role requires a proactive, hands-on leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills, and it is based on Moreton Island with a live-in arrangement.

You will manage emergencies, dispatch first aid, and ensure guest satisfaction while maintaining safety and resort integrity.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years management experience in hospitality.
• Senior First Aid and CPR certification.
• QLD Drivers licence (manual preferred).
• QLD Driver Authorisation (DA).
• QLD RSA certificate minimum; RMLV and Approved Manager knowledge beneficial.
• Australian resident and/or full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to guests on a range of matters including first aid, basic maintenance, porter, housekeeping and transport.
• Liaise with all departments to ensure guest needs are met and respond to problems and complaints.
• Act as primary liaison with emergency services (police, water police, ambulance, SES) as needed.
• Be first responder in emergencies (first aid calls, fire evacuation, extreme weather).
• Conduct regular patrols to ensure resort areas are secure.
• Prepare nightly reports for senior management and be on call overnight.
