Job summary

Workcontrol Operations Pty Ltd in Bathurst, NSW, is seeking an experienced Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join our finance team on a permanent full-time basis. You will support day-to-day payroll processing, supplier invoicing, reconciliations, and general accounting tasks under the guidance of the Accounts & Finance Manager.

The role requires at least 2 years in payroll/accounts administration, strong knowledge of Xero, and familiarity with Employment Hero or KeyPay is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in payroll and accounts administration (essential).
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Understanding of payroll legislation and superannuation.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.

Workcontrol Operations Pty Ltd is a leading provider in the traffic management. We’re currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join our team on a permanent full- time basis.

About the Role

Reporting to the Accounts & Finance Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance and payroll functions. You’ll ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across payroll and accounts operations while contributing to the smooth running of our business.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legislation and Awards
• Accounts payable and receivable processing, reconciliations, and reporting
• Previous experience in payroll and accounts administration (minimum 2 years essential)
• Assisting with month-end and year-end finance tasks
• General accounting and administrative support as required

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in payroll and accounts administration (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of Xero Accounting Software
• Experience using Employment Hero / KeyPay (highly regarded)
• Sound understanding of payroll legislation, superannuation, and PAYG requirements
