The Western Downs Regional Council is seeking a Utilities role within the Utilities Department to assist the Utilities Senior Network Operator. You will monitor and operate water, wastewater and gas networks, ensuring safety, environmental compliance and high customer service standards.
Responsibilities include operating pump stations, maintaining distribution systems, and supporting endeavours to meet statutory performance requirements, with access to training and career development
Operating from within the Utilities Department, this role will assist the Utilities Senior Network Operator to provide a range of services that support the provision of safe water, wastewater and gas services across the Western Downs. This includes meeting statutory requirements for performance, safety and environmental management and ensuring customer service standards are achieved to a high standard. This role requires skills and knowledge necessary to monitor, operate and maintain water, wastewater and gas network operations.
Monitor and operate network systems, pump stations and water distribution systems
Knowledge of water and wastewater networks with experience in labouring and using plant and equipment
Servicing, lubricating, cleaning, and refuelling small plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
Assist the Utilities Senior Network Operator to provide services that support safe water, wastewater and gas services
Meet statutory requirements for performance, safety and environmental management
Ensure customer service standards are achieved to a high standard
Proven/Demonstrated experience in monitoring and operating network systems, pump stations and water distribution systems
Knowledge of water and wastewater networks with experience in labouring and using plant and equipment
Proven initiative, a good work ethic and demonstrated problem-solving skills to address issues
Effective interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills including the ability to follow directions and standard operating procedures and work autonomously
Servicing, lubricating, cleaning, and refuelling small plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
Familiarity with modern technology and proficient in using smart devices to enter data for reporting
