WISE Energy takes energy storage projects from manufacture right through to installation, with systems up to 10MW. We are looking for an electrician who wants to work on serious, large-scale battery storage, whether you are still training or already licenced. You will see the whole job, from the drawings through to the system running on site.
Key responsibilities
- Building and wiring battery systems in our factory, including HV and DC systems, switchgear and control cabinets
- Installing battery systems, inverters and switchgear on site, on projects of up to 10MW
- Working alongside our crane and deployment crews as large systems are lifted, placed and connected
- Working with Victron Energy equipment and battery management (BMS) communications
- Reading single line diagrams and wiring plans, and helping to build them
- Testing, fault-finding and commissioning, with the right documentation at each step
- Working safely with experienced licensed electricians, and learning the standards as you go
About you
- Either in your third year of an electrotechnology apprenticeship, in the final stages of your capstone or licence preparation, or already holding a NSW electrical licence
- Reliable, safety-minded and keen to learn the trade properly
- A team player who communicates clearly with customers and crew
- Willing to work at heights and on tools, and to travel for site projects
- A driver's licence
- Interest in batteries, renewables and large-scale power systems. Prior experience is not essential
- Keen to hold or obtain truck and crane licences and working-at-heights tickets, at WISE's cost and discretion
- Must hold or be working towards the appropriate NSW electrical licence and must be eligible to work in Australia
About us
- We design, build and deploy battery energy storage systems, including high-voltage and DC battery systems. Every project is custom designed to the site and the customer's needs, rather than built from a catalogue. We keep the designs deliberately simple, because reliability and serviceability matter as much as performance. We manage the full chain ourselves: engineering, manufacture, delivery and installation, using our own cranes and deployment equipment.
- Apprenticeship support, and a pathway to lead roles for licensed electricians
- Truck and crane licences and working-at-heights training, at our discretion
- Work vehicles supplied for onsite work
- Support towards solar and battery accreditation courses
- HV and DC battery systems up to 10MW and 4000A DC, from manufacture to commissioning
- Direct access to the engineers who design and build the systems
- Pay set by your year level, licence status and experience
