Job summary

Modtech Electrical Services Pty Ltd is seeking an accredited electrician to lead the field team across solar and battery installations, plus commercial and domestic electrical work. You will oversee jobs from site checks through commissioning and handover, while also training apprentices and ensuring safety and quality on every site.

Expect diverse domestic, commercial, and occasional rural projects, with a focus on customer communication, brand representation, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must hold an unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence and a Qualified Supervisor Certificate.
• SAA accreditation and Grid-Connect Solar & Battery Storage design/installation qualifications required.
• White Card, Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness are expected.
• Full driver’s licence and willingness to train the team.

Responsibilities

• Run solar and battery installations from site check to commissioning and handover.
• Lead and train apprentices and ensure quality workmanship.
• Organise gear, stock and job prep for the field team.
• Engage with customers and represent the brand on site.
• Deliver occasional rural/remote solar work and utility scale installations.

ModTech Electrical Services is a local electrical and renewables business working across the Blue Mountains and possible remote locations. We do solar and battery installs, plus commercial and domestic electrical work. This role is for an accredited electrician who will lead the field team as it grows. Running solar and battery installations start to finish, from site check to commissioning to handover. Picking up commercial and domestic electrical work in between, so no two weeks look the same.

Key responsibilities

Running solar and battery installations start to finish, from site check to commissioning to handover

Picking up commercial and domestic electrical work

Leading and training apprentices, teaching them the trade and holding them to a standard

Organising gear, stock and job prep so the team turns up ready

Talking to customers and representing the brand, vehicles, uniform, and site presentation

Occasional rural and remote solar work and utility scale installation

About you

Unrestricted NSW Electrical Licence and Qualified Supervisor Certificate

SAA accreditation, Grid-Connect Design & Install Solar & Battery Storage

Working at Heights, Asbestos Awareness, White Card

Full driver's licence

Solid experience across solar, comfortable turning your hand to commercial and domestic work

The temperament to train someone who's having a bad day, and the patience to explain an inverter to someone who's never thought about one

Preferred but not essential: Forklift Licence and Tele-handler Gold card

Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and pass a police check

Formal pay review at 6 months, then annually

Performance bonuses, paid quarterly or half-yearly, tied to job quality, customer feedback, safety, and apprentice progress

Ongoing training, paid for and paid time, including battery endorsement, new product accreditations, EV charging, high-risk tickets where needed, and leadership training

A genuine path as the team grows

Mostly local work, minimal FIFO, minimal long-haul travel
