Job summary

Geelong Careers is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Practitioner to support NDIS participants with challenging behaviours. You will work with clients, families and health professionals to develop coping strategies and improve quality of life.

The role involves assessments, tailored behaviour support plans, training for carers, progress monitoring, and accurate record-keeping in a collaborative team environment. Child safety and rigorous screening are emphasised.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field.
Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours.
Knowledge of evidence-based behaviour management techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments to identify the root cause of challenging behaviours.
Develop and implement behaviour support plans tailored to individual needs.
Provide training and support to clients, families, and caregivers on behaviour management techniques.
Monitor progress and adjust support plans as necessary.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client progress and interventions.
Attend team meetings and participate in case conferences as required.
