Job summary

The Safe Step in Sydney seeks a National Technical Lead for Workers Compensation Self Insurance on an initial 6-month contract. You will govern self-insurance licences, lead regulatory assurance, and provide technical depth across jurisdictions.

The role requires strong regulatory writing, audit experience, and collaboration with regulators and internal stakeholders across a national function.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining self insurance licences and working directly with regulators.
• Strong understanding of regulatory governance, assurance and audit requirements.
• Experience across multiple Australian workers compensation jurisdictions, NSW and East Coast.
• Ability to interpret complex legislative requirements and apply them in practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage ongoing self insurance licence requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting, licence renewals and statutory submissions.
• Support and lead self insurance audits and regulatory reviews.
• Maintain governance documentation, standards and technical frameworks.
• Provide specialist technical advice on self insurance and regulatory compliance.
