Job summary

Certis Security Australia in Sydney is seeking a National Operations Team Leader to coordinate the National Operations Centre activities, including daily deployments and patrol response, across the network. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor a team, manage rostering, ensure KPI delivery, compliance and client expectations, and act as central escalation point while coordinating with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• NSW Security Licences (1A/1E) and First Aid Certificate are essential.
• Certificate II in Security Operations and Leadership/Management certificates are required.
• Minimum 3 years in operations or rostering; leadership experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact and escalation for operational matters.
• Oversee daily deployment and patrol response functions.
• Experience in workforce planning and employee rostering within a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure team performance aligns with KPIs, contractual obligations, and legislative requirements.
• Support, mentor and develop team members to drive capability and performance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (including IT) to resolve system issues.
• Manage incidents and ensure accurate, timely reporting and documentation.
• Maintain a strong customer service focus across all interactions.
• Support training, coaching and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and operational standards.

Job Impact

As a National Operations Team Leader, you will play a key leadership role within the National Operations Centre (NOC), overseeing daily deployments and patrol response activity across the network.

Your leadership will directly impact operational performance, team capability, and service delivery—ensuring incidents are managed effectively, risks are minimised, and frontline teams are fully supported.

About the Role

This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership position where you will coordinate daily operations while supporting and mentoring a team in a high-pressure environment.

You’ll act as a central escalation point, manage competing priorities, and ensure all operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance and client expectations.

Location: Macquarie Park

Contract: Permanent Full Time

Shifts: permanent night roster (including weekends and public holidays)

Key Responsibilities

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

About You

• Current NSW Security Licence 1A (Unarmed Guarding) and 1E (Monitoring Centre Operator)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Certificate II in Security Operations
• Certificate in Leadership and Management
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in an operations or rostering environment
• Previous experience leading or supervising a team
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Excellent organisation and reporting capability
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities

Desirable:

• Certificate IV in Security & Risk Management
• Experience within a manpower or security services provider
