National BESS & Solar Business Development Manager

Job summary

SearchWorks Pty Ltd today seeks a Business Development Manager for the Australian renewables division, focusing on BESS, hybrid power and solar. You will drive sales across distributors and installers nationwide, dealing with projects from 50k to 1M+ and shaping market strategy from the ground up.

You will own the pipeline, conduct site visits and provide pre-sales guidance on system specs, while building relationships with key channel partners.

Qualifications

• Proven B2B sales track record in commercial solar, battery storage, electrical or power generation.
• Solid understanding of the solar distributor/installer channel — how they buy and what they care about.
• Comfortable with technical product conversations — you don't need an engineering degree, but you need to know your specs.
• Self-directed and comfortable building from scratch — this isn't a warm patch handover (new role)
• Based in Sydney; willing to travel nationally (2-3 nights/month)

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with solar distributors, installers, EPC contractors and consultants nationally.
• Identify and convert new business opportunities across commercial, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
• Provide technical guidance and pre-sales support on BESS and hybrid configurations.
• Manage your own pipeline via CRM — site visits, meetings, project tracking.
• Contribute to new product launches into the Australian market.
• Regular national travel (2-3 nights per month)
