Job summary

Melbourne Youth Orchestras is seeking an accomplished conductor and inspiring educator to become our next Music Director, commencing in 2028 following the departure of Brett Kelly. The role combines artistic leadership of the flagship Melbourne Youth Orchestra with broader educational leadership across the organisation.

• Professional-level conducting experience and ability to prepare musical works thoroughly.
• Strong leadership and collaborative abilities with youth ensembles.
• Excellent communication and empathy to support young musicians through demanding repertoire.
